LIMITED EDITION PRINTS

All Limited Edition Prints have been published from Original Water Colour paintings on 100% neutral ph paper. Each print has been inspected for accuracy of colour and has been signed and numbered by the artist. All prices for prints are in Canadian dollars and include all taxes. They can be shipped world wide at an additional charge. Framed prints with glass are difficult to ship and cannot be guaranteed. Framed prints are available through the studio, the Artisans' Attic, Georgetown, or at one of the shows listed on my schedule.

"The bright scarlet colour of the male Cardinal and the more muted colour of the female are echoed by the colour of the autumn sumac. Due to the proliferation of backyard birdfeeders the breeding and wintering range of the Cardinal now extends well into Ontario and we can enjoy the flash of red in our gardens all year round."

The common loon is an enduring symbol of our vanishing wilderness. Once thought to be succumbing to the pressures of man, the loon is learning to adapt and the population is now on the upswing. Once again, the mournful wail and the cheerful laughter are commonly heard on our lakes and rivers. Repopulation has been slow, loons produce only two chicks each year, many of whom fall prey to predators on the nest and in the water. In this painting I sought to capture the close and joyful relationship between parent and young.

For millions of years there was a natural balance between predator and prey. Wolves do prey on some big game but mostly the old, the weak, and the diseased are taken, which acts to strengthen both species. Recent studies show that most wolves survive mainly on small game such as mice and rabbits. However, man sees the wolf as a competitor or as a threat and the resultant pressures have driven the wolf further and further into the ever diminishing wilderness. This painting captures the elusive and mysterious, but haunted character of this magnificent Canadian species, the Timber Wolf.
