Laura Kingsbury is one of Canada's leading wildlife and nature artists, working in watercolours, acrylic and pastels. She is best known for her sensitive portrayals of birds, especially songbirds.
She received
many Art Awards in High School but decided to pursue a career in Biology,
graduating from the University of Guelph in 1980 with an Honors B.Sc. in
Wildlife Biology and Management. Laura has since worked as a research biologist with the Canadian Wildlife
Service and as a Naturalist/Interpreter with the National Capital Commission in
Ottawa. She also worked with several Toronto area Conservation Authorities and trained
as a Volunteer Guide at the Metro
Toronto Zoo.
